From a 'counselors' perspective

Hola, Augusta! After battling four days of rain and cool temperatures, LU left Madrid around noon under partly sunny skies. Our destination today was Iglesia Christiana Evangel de Motril in Grenada. The drive through the mountains covered with olive trees as far as the eyes could see was beautiful. Today's prayer book theme was on God's grace and the theme could not have been more appropriate. The beauty of the scenery was only surpassed in this beautiful little cathedral. It truly is amazing to see the power of God's grace and I wish you all could have been there to see complete strangers who speak a different language join our choir by raising their voices and hands in praise and worship to our Creator. Luke Reeve and Alice Hall shared their testimony of faith tonight and the audience appreciated their message. It is so rewarding to see these teenagers share our how our God is working in their lives. The music was also spectacular and the choir received a standing ovation. Even the 'sisters' applauded in the balcony. Language and differing cultures are not barriers when it comes to God's grace.

I also wish you could see how amazing your children are. Through all the bad weather, venue changes and Spanish cuisine, these teenagers have had wonderful attitudes and have never looked, nor sounded better. Parents, they absolutely took Danny serious when he said, "No whining!" Everywhere we go, we receive compliments about how well-behaved and well-mannered they are. It is truly an honor to accept these compliments on your behalf.

Lastly, I want to let you know that your children are in great hands. My fellow counselors are unbelievable and we are all loving taking care of your children. Continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we travel and spread the good news of God's grace.

-Dudley Harrington, LU counselor

It seems that LU may be beginning to tire on the 8th day of tour. We started off early today and traveled to Alhambre, a magnificent city on the outskirts of Granada. From there we had a 7 hour bus ride to Auñon and the choir was a little less than thrilled. Although, when we... (Click 'MORE' to read the rest!)
